Tanzania Wildebeest Migration-June
This safari holds amazing sights and attractive sceneries!! Six days in which we explore some of Tanzania's real natural wonders, as we follow the path of the Great Migration in Western Serengeti. By June, this is where well find the concentration of the herd animals as the world's biggest animal movement continues its way clockwise. Of course, Nature and rainfall determine the exact route and timings of the animals movement, so our daily schedule will be adjusted if necessary, to ensure that we see the animals at their very best, at their most numerous. From our starting-point in Arusha, our spectacular adventure takes us first to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant population and its landscape of distinctive baobab trees. Our next destination is the magnificent Central Serengeti, followed by the western section of this most famous park. Thousands of zebra, wildebeest and Cape buffalo gather to cross the Grumeti River, full of crocodiles. Each day will bring something new, all explained to you by your Safaris expert. The Great Migration, the world biggest movement of animals, is often the highlight of people's lives, never mind the highlight of their safari! After absorbing all the excitement that Serengeti's wildlife can provide, we change scenery to visit stunning Ngorongoro crater, another incredible but totally different venue for the breathtaking animals of Tanzania. You will take away enough memories to last a lifetime.
Day One (1): Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast in Arusha, we will depart for Tarangire National Park early in the morning. Once we arrive in Tarangire we will begin exploring the enormous termite mounds and the ancient baobab trees. You should know that this park is renowned for its diverse bird species and extensive population of elephants. There are regular sightings of ferocious lions, giraffe, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetah, mongoose, buffaloes, and mischievous baboons. After viewing the wildlife in Tarangire we will continue our journey to our next highlight the Ngorongoro Crater and Close to Lake Manyara. Dinner and Overnight Camp or Lodge
Day Two (2): Mto wa Mbu - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we collect our lunch boxes, and start our journey which takes us west and north, our exciting destination being a name familiar to everyone the Serengeti! On the way, the sheer scale of the territory and the raw beauty and awesomeness of the landscapes reveal themselves and your driver-guide will help you to spot animals and birds. This is just a preview of things to come, for the Serengeti is home to what is possibly the world's greatest gathering of wildlife. After enjoying a picnic lunch, you will be eager to pursue some more great wildlife-spotting opportunities in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set in the grasslands, savannahs, woods and mountain scenery, which creature will show itself next? These endless plains are home to elephant, Buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, hippo and crocodile, the adventure has truly begun. At the evening after all exhausted and exhilarated, it's time to drive you back to your chosen accommodation for dinner and to talk about the many fantastic experiences you’ve had today. overnight at Camp or Lodge.
Day Three (3): To Western Serengeti National Park
On this trip-of-a-lifetime, we now have a short drive to reach the great Serengeti's Western Corridor, the park's narrow section through which the Great Migration must pass at this time of the year. This is our focus, as the herds of thousands of zebra and wildebeest gather enough strength to cross the Grumeti River. For them, danger lurks in the form of the Nile crocodiles; for you, safe inn your vehicle, this is a chance to see Nature at its very rawest in this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. Animals on the move, animals hunting or being hunted! A varied rich birdlife is present too, as are the Colobus monkeys who inhabit the forests. Each day is different here, unpredictable and full of surprises, but nothing can surpass the Great Migration, that unique natural wonder which involves a cast of breathtaking numbers, literally hundreds of thousands of animals making their annual journey. overnight at Camp or Lodge.
Day Four (4): To Central Serengeti National Park
Before leaving the Western Serengeti, we take the opportunity this morning to enjoy another game drive in this incredible location. This allows us further time to wonder at the migratory herds and the dangers and challenges they face each year in their battle for survival. As well as the herd animals, you can perhaps see a hippopotamus or up in the skies, a majestic martial eagle. As well as the migrating animals, this area also has a good population of resident wildlife, so you wont be disappointed. In the afternoon, we take the short drive back to the central part of Serengeti, where you will be taken to your chosen accommodation for relaxation and your evening meal.overnight at Camp or Lodge.
Day Four (5): To Central Serengeti National Park
soon after break fast in the morning you will enjoy another game drive in this incredible location. Day Five (6): Full game drive in Ngorongoro crater and drive back to Arusha
Today after breakfast we will drive descending to Ngorongoro crater often referred to as wonder of the world. You will do a game drive break for picnic lunch and late evening ascend from crater and drive to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight. This is World largest caldera fully of grassland, forest and swamp, a setting of jaw-dropping beauty. The permanent water of crater floor supports a resident population of more than 25,000 large mammals. Here you will find many of reason you chose to do Safaris in Tanzania. Lions, Waterbuck, Hippo Baboons, Black Rhino, leopard, Hyena, Jackal, Buffalo, Warthog, Gazelle and many more abundant wildlife are shelter here. Maasai are sharing the awesome space with animals, their cattle in an area which has been a separate conservation area since 1956 and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1978. This harmonious co-habitation of Man and beast makes Ngorongoro unique in the world. After late afternoon drive back to Arusha.
