Our 5 days Serengeti migration-safari itinerary, takes you
to Ngorongoro Serengeti, Manyara, Tarangire parks. This is most refreshing time when it
fall in Serengeti wildebeest migration. It include the Serengeti plain
which host world largest mammal migration and Lake Manyara National park
famous for tree climbing lions. The Tarangire is popular for large
groups of Elephants under the baobab trees during the day time. If you are
looking for cheap Tanzania safari we suggest choosing this
plan.
Best time to travel: All year round (but for the Migration December to May)
On
this 5 days Serengeti migration-safari, in lodge safari you will visit
Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and also a large section of
the Serengeti National Park. The sight of one hundred thousand wildebeest and
zebras crossing the grassland savanna is something to behold and is surely one
of Africa’s natural wonders. However no matter what time of year you decide to
visit the wildlife watching is superb.
Day
1 -Moshi – Lake Manyara National Park
In
the morning we will collect you from your hotel and drive you to Lake Manyara
National Park. The park lies and is bordered between the Rift Valley Escarpment
and the dusty Masai Steppe. On the western side is a forest and also the
alkaline Manyara lake which covers the largest area of the park.
The park was established in 1960 to give the elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelopes and gazelles a protected habitat. The Lake Manyara National Park is also home to the tree climbing lions – tree climbing is a trait not normally found amongst big cats and it is quite a sight to see.
Upon entering the park your driver will open the vehicle roof and you can then start your wild life watching in earnest. In the late afternoon you will arrive at
Kirurumu Manyara Lodge for overnight. Lunch; Dinner
Day
2 Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti
National Park
After
breakfast the safari tour marks the start of our program 5 days Serengeti
migration-safari. Its the way to the fertile crater highlands where the Iraqw
people grow wheat, corn and coffee. At midday you will reach the plains of
Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti National Park is the second largest park
in Tanzania and is about the same size as Hawaii. The southern part is
dominated by grassland and is therefore good hunting ground for the cheetah,
while to the north / western parts a more hilly tree savanna landscape dominates.
The Serengeti migration is famous of up to one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebras. This migration has become to be known as the “Great wildebeest Migration” and each year this natural spectacle is guaranteed. This in itself sets the Serengeti aside as a unique place to watch and observe wildlife.
You will have your evening meal and overnight stay at Kati Kati Tented Camp . Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner
Day
3 Serengeti National Park
This
is another third night of our program: 5 days Serengeti migration-safari.The
whole day is devoted to you to observe the wildlife in the Serengeti National
Park. The areas that you will visit depend upon the location of the herds.
Generally the herds of wildebeest and zebras during the short rain season of
October to November tend to be found moving from the hills in the north to the
plains in the south. They return slowly during the longer rain season in April,
May and June. Fluctuations in precipitation can affect the animals location
from year to year, however your guide will know the exact location of the
animals and the best vantage spots.
A visit to the Visit Centre , is also possible (booking in advance), where you can learn about Serengeti’s history and current research of Frankfurter Zoologische Gesellschaft (Frankfurt zoological society in Tanzania).
