Tanzania safaris – A safari is a Swahili word meaning journey, the language spoken in all countries of East Africa. Your safaris into Tanzania start with Serengeti Joy Tours.

 When you book our safaris you will be met at the airport on time of your arrival and you will be taken to a hotel to receive a short briefing about your next day trip. All of our Tanzania safaris are offered in a well-maintained, clean Toyota 4×4 safari land cruiser, driven by an experienced local safari guide who will leave you with lots of experience with wonder and excitement. On safari you will search for the African ‘Big Five’ – buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and rhino – and will watch at astonishment at grass-covered huge savannas, extinct volcanoes and exceptional birds. You will see animals, landscapes and flowers; you will get together with the local people and taste the local food.

TYPE OF TANZANIA SAFARIS

Here is a highlight of the different safari types offered in Tanzania. We arrange combinations of safari many of them are in a custom-made safari or you can book some of these tours into a standard safari. 

Travelling in a 4×4 safari land cruiser with a pop-up open hatched roof is the traditional safari style we offer. Our safari vehicles fit a maximum of 7 guests in each is guaranteed a window seat. These vehicles are fitted with seatbelts for each passenger, a fridge with water and a complete charging system for cell phones and cameras. Our safari jeeps are equipped with pair of binoculars and guide books of animals, plants and birds. 

We offer fly-in safaris to access remote areas such as the safari parks in South Tanzania. The flying option will save your time and reduce travel time driving on rough roads
. We also offer fly-in safaris in the northern Tanzania parks flying from Arusha to Serengeti national park. To get you close with nature and its animals we arrange walking safari inside the parks or at the outskirts. Inside the park you will be escorted by an armed park ranger who will show you tracking techniques and teach you about the fauna and flora of our country.

A bird watching safari in the bush of Tanzania is a great way to see birds and animals from a new perspective.

 A half day walking in Game Reserve provides an excellent opportunity to photograph water birds and common animals coming closer to you.

Another safari option for adventurers is to explore Tanzania on horseback ride. You will not be detected by wild animals and should be able to get very close to them.

Floating in a silent hot-air balloon over the vast plains of the Serengeti and see the animals from the air. This option is in particular popular in the Serengeti where you can see the sun rise over the savannas. Often a balloon trip is followed by a champagne bush breakfast.

ACCOMMODATION STYLES

We have a selection of different safari accommodations in Tanzania to accommodate every budget and wish:

Lodge safaris – offering accommodation in lodges and permanent tented camps with solid flooring. Luxury safaris include specially selected four to five-star hotels where you will have a bedroom, good beds with linen and an en-suite bathroom.
 Meals are served in buffet with varies selection for you to choose from.Mobile tented camp safaris offer camping in isolated and private campsites away from the crowds. The tents we use are larger enough with en-suite bathroom and guests sleep on king size beds fitted with a proper form mattress and linen.
 The food on our Mobile tented camp safaris is particularly prepared by well- trained safari chefs and will be served in the mess tent or under the open African sky in the camp fire “wild TV”.The Mobile tented camps safari style – is ideal for nature lovers who enjoys peace and tranquility in the middle of the African bush but who prefer a little comfort. 

Camping safari styles – are perfect for adventurers and are morerural in style. You will be staying in public campsites, located inside the parks or on private campsites located on the outer edge. The campsites in the parks are not fenced we only pitch the tents on the camping grounds and usually you may see elephants roaming between the tents or the antelopes knocking on your way to the washrooms.

Our camping accommodations are provided in spacious pop-up tents in which the mattresses are laid on the built in ground sheet, the tents are waterproof each can accommodate 2 persons in and all the tents are with built-in mosquito nets at the entrances and windows to keep off insects. 5 cm thick sleeping mattresses are provided for each client in a shared or private tent. You will enjoy your dinner in the dining hall or at the camp fire outside while making some fans with friends or enjoying your personal wine or beers.On your Camping Safaris you will also be accompanied by a trained safari cook who will be cooking for you. He will make all preparations of all meals including a packed lunch boxes for a picnic lunch so you will not drive back to the camp for lunch instead you will spend the full days for animal viewing.
