7 Days /Honeymoon Safari in Kenya
Day 1: You
will leave Nairobi after breakfast at 07:00, driving through the central
highlands and into the northern plains with stunning views across the slopes of
the Mt. Kenya arriving in Samburu National Reserve on time for lunch. Then, you
will enjoy an afternoon game drive at the park which is home to the famous
Samburu Special Five. It includes very rare species which is baisy Oryx,
Grevy's zebra, gerenuk, blue-necked Somali ostrich, and reticulated giraffe.
The herds of elephants in this reserve will stun you. The Ewaso Ngiro River
will provide an excellent spot for game viewing.
Day 2: You
will start your day in the bush by scanning the surroundings from the lodge's
veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand. You will off in pursuit of the
elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve's
grasslands and acacia woodlands. The day will be spent in alternating pursuits
of exploration in the bush and relaxation in the lodge.
Day 3: You
will depart from Samburu National Reserve after breakfast and travel to the
exotic Sweetwater’s Serena Tented Camp in the secluded heart of Ol Pejeta Ranch
and Rhino Reserve. Here, these magnificent beasts are given sanctuary from
those who would take their lives to sell their horns. The Jane Good all
Institute operates a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary where you will meet the
primates face to- face and the camp also overlooks one of the busiest
waterholes in the area and offers elephant, giraffe, and myriad plains game.
Day 4: You
will rise up early for your last game drive and return to the camp for
breakfast. You will then leave Ol Pajeta Conservancy after breakfast and head
to Lake Nakuru National Park with stopovers at the stunning Thompson Falls
(Nyahururu) at 11:00 and Great Rift Valley View Point (Subukia) at 12:00, arriving
on time for lunch. You will proceed for an afternoon game to view the millions
of pink flamingos. Lake Nakuru is one of the Rhino sanctuaries in Kenya and
therefore viewing rhinos in the wild is possible.
Day 5: You
will enjoy an early morning game drive at dawn, returning to your lodge for
breakfast at 07:30. After your breakfast, you will depart Lake Nakuru National
Park and drive south to reach the game abundant Masaai Mara in time for lunch.
An afternoon game drive in this magical environment reveals the giant herds of
plains game and the numerous predators that have made the reserve so famous.
Day 6: You
will visit Maasai Mara National Reserve to see a variety of wildlife. The
wildlife in this reserve is abundant and the gentle rolling grassland ensures
that animals are never out of sight. Birds too are prolific, including migrant
birds and 53 bird of prey species. The first sight of this park is
breathtaking. Here the great herds of shuffling elephants browse among the rich
tree-studded grasslands with an occasional sighting of a solitary and
ill-tempered rhino; thousands of plains herbivores such as Thompson's and
Grant's gazelle, Topi, and eland offer a rich choice of food for the dominant
predators: lion, leopard, and cheetah all hunt in this pristine wilderness.
Day 7: You
will wake up early and proceed for your last game drive at 06:30 in the reserve
followed by a late breakfast at the lodge at 09:30. Alternatively, depending on
your flight time, you may have breakfast, check out and enjoy a game drive en
route departing for Nairobi with lunch en route arriving in Nairobi in the late
afternoon. You will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO)
to catch your home flight.

K-up. Thank you, Robert, for
suggesting you send a driver to Kakamega to pick us up. The additional cost was
reasonable and Josh actually found us in our somewhat rural and remote Kakamega
home! Our Masai Mara experience was fabulous. We loved Ilkeliani Camp and were
most happy with our guide and driver, Josh. We saw four of the big five! We had
seen rhino the previous week at Ol Pejeta, so we weren't disappointed in not
seeing one at Masai Mara. I would highly recommend Beacon Safaris."
