6-day Kenya safari itinerary
Day one: Arrival into Nairobi, the capital of Kenya
Safari
holiday begins when your flight arrives into Nairobi from where you are met,
assisted and then transferred to your comfortable hotel on bed and breakfast.
Nairobi is safari hub with all major tours starting here. One of our experts
will brief you about your tour in Kenya
package. Time permitting; you can book one of the day tours in Nairobi. Accommodation at
Sarova Panafric Hotel.
Day two: Drive from Nairobi to Mount Longonot hiking
Your
adventure packed safari tour starts with a pick-up from your hotel at 8 am. The
drive is through The Great Rift Valley view point. Arrive at Mount Longonot
National Park Gate for registration and to the base from where we start our
hike to the top (crater), rising to 9108ft / 2,776m. Rising from the floor of
the Great Rift Valley like a monolith is the extinct volcano of Mount Longonot.
The unique feature is the thick forest that lies within the crater of the
mountain. The crater rim also provides great scenic views across the beautiful
Rift Valley all the way to Lake Naivasha.
Major
wildlife attractions at Mount Longonot include buffaloes, lion, elands, bush
bucks, leopard, giraffe, common zebra, and Grant’s gazelles. You will
have a peak circuit trek of the crater. You will then descend from the hike and
drive to Naivasha for late lunch. The afternoon is free for sunset boat ride to
see the hippos. Dinner and night at your tented camp, Lake Naivasha Crescent
Camp, B, L, D
Day three: Hell’s Gate National Park Walking and Cycling
Start
with breakfast and a short drive to The Hell’s Gate National Park for a day of
guided walking and cycling tour of this scenic park amongst herbivores, no
carnivores. The park has spectacular sceneries that include towering cliffs,
stark rock towers, water-gouged gorges, scrub-clad volcanoes and belching
plumes of geothermal steam. It is an activity oriented park, a haven for hikers
and cyclists.
Common
animals to be found here include the African buffalo, eland, zebra, Thomson’s
gazelle hartebeest, and baboons. The park is equally home to Chandler’s
mountain reedbuck and klipspringer antelope. It has also a prolific bird
life with over one hundred species of birds recorded including Verreaux’s
Eagles, vultures, augur buzzard and swifts. Return to the camp for the night, Lake
Naivasha Crescent Camp, B, L, and D
Day four: Traveling from Lake Naivasha to the scenic
Maasai Mara safari holiday Kenya
An
early breakfast is provided at the camp. You then drive to the Maasai Mara with
on route lunch in Narok. Continue into the camp for check in. There is an
afternoon game viewing tour drive in this panoramic savanna game reserve
situated in the North of the Serengeti Plains and famous for its highest
wildlife concentrations. Dinner & overnight at Ol Moran Tented Camp, B, L,
D.
Day five: The Majestic Maasai Mara safari tour
Spend
a full day in Masai Mara with packaged safari game drives being the greatest
moments for game viewing in this mystic acacia-topped plain, a time where the
soft red hues of the sun will give your photographs the clarity of the actual
African savanna. The full day of game drives combining the morning and
afternoon as you explore in-depth of this fabled wildlife-packed haven.
The
Maasai Mara offers a fitting conclusion to your adventure. The Maasai Mara on a
