10 Days Masai Mara Lake Nakuru Serengeti Ngorongoro Crater
Departs Tuesdays
Safari to the best and most
interesting game parks in Kenya and Tanzania. It’s exciting! It’s magical! The
game parks of Northern Tanzania are amongst the best in the world and offer
very exciting game viewing. Ngorongoro Crater is known for its packs of hunting
dogs and an abundance of other wild game. Lake Manyara lions are in the habit
of residing in the trees where they can relax and watch for prey while
Serengeti is where the great wildebeest migration to Masai Mara commences each
year.
Day1: Masai Mara
Departing from Nairobi in the
morning we drive down the Escarpment via the floor of the Great Rift Valley, to
Masai Mara National Game Reserve. We view game as we proceed to our campsite.
At Masai Mara we pitch tents in a campsite at the edge of the park.
Day2: Masai Mara:
We explore Masai Mara’s amazingly
high concentration of game (throughout the year) with a morning and afternoon game
drive assisted by your experienced professional driver tour guide to spot the
animals. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is 1510sq km of open rolling grasslands
dotted with the acacia trees harboring lions, leopards, cheetah, elephants,
buffaloes, zebras, massai giraffes, hippos, black rhinos, spotted hyenas many
species of antelopes. The climax is the annual great wildebeest migration in
July, August and September.
Day3: Lake Nakuru National Park
Depart Masai Mara in the morning for
Lake Nakuru National Park with lunch enroute. Have afternoon game drive in Lake
Nakuru to see the pink flamingos and the white rhinos along the shores. At Lake
Nakuru you may find lion, leopard and plenty of waterbucks, buffaloes,
gazelles, reedbucks, warthogs, hyraxes, baboons and the Rothschild giraffe.
Dinner and overnight in a campsite outside the park
Day4: Arusha.
We leave the campsite for Arusha via
up the escarpment past the outskirts of Nairobi to the Namanga border and into
Tanzania with lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in a campsite in Arusha
Day5: Serengeti National Park
Day5: Serengeti National Park
We depart in the morning for
Serengeti National park with lunch and game viewing en route followed by dinner
and overnight at a campsite.“Serengeti is Africa’s most famous and Tanzania’s
largest park covering 14,736 sq km and its ecosystem is shared with the Masai
Mara National Reserve to the north in Kenya. With a wildebeest population of
about 2 million and several other hoofed species (which include zebra,
Thomson’s gazelle, impala, tope, Grants gazelle, Kongoni, Eland, Kirk’s dik-dik,
klipspringer, roan, Oryx, oribi, waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe and warthog), it
is sure to attract a string of prey such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena,
golden jackals and bat eared foxes. Elephants are relatively scarce and the few
remaining black rhinoceros are restricted to the Moru Koppies” area.
Day6: Serengeti National Park.
Departing in the morning, we drive
west game viewing through the western corridor of the Serengeti to the Central
region of Seronera. Dinner and overnight at one of the campsites at Seronera
You can visit the park all year round but there is less game in the park during the dry season – July /October, where they migrate to the Masai Mara in Kenya. During March to May the herds move in search of pastures to the southern section and in May to June, they move towards the western corridor of the park. Serengeti in the low season will still offer game viewing to match that of any park in Africa, and for some, the fact that there will be fewer tourists may be an advantage.

Day7: Serengeti National Park.
A full day’s game viewing in the
central Serengeti. Overnight in a campsite in Seronera.Serengeti offers
rewarding bird viewing with ostrich and kori bustard being quite common, a
variety of larks, finches, and raptors can be seen but the most distinctive small
bird is the lilac breasted roller.
Day8: Ngorongoro Crater.
We view game as we drive southeast
up into the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area where we spend the night
at the Simba (Lion) campsite on the crater rim. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s
biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning
arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only
because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an
extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of
large mammals.
Day9: Ngorongoro crater to Arusha.
We start refreshingly early as we
descend into the crater to enjoy a full morning’s crater tour as we have a
greater chance of seeing wildlife at this early hour. After lunch, we relocate
you to Arusha town where we camp at a campsite or you have a choice of checking
into a hotel at an extra cost should you require extra comfort after days in
the African wild.
Day10: Nairobi
After
a leisurely breakfast and a walk around Arusha town, which is situated at the
base of Mt. Meru, we head back to Nairobi where you are dropped back in the
city centre. END OF SAFARI
