Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1:
Kilimanjaro Airport- Arusha
Upon
arrival, you will be picked up by your designated Kapolondo Expeditions Driver
Guide from JRO Airport to Arusha (approx. 45 min to 1 hour drive). This is also
an opportunity for you to get to know your guide, as you will probably have
many questions for him regarding the safari, and Tanzania in general! Your
Driver Guide will drop you off at Arusha Coffee Lodge for rest, with drinks
refreshment on the house! If you are arriving in the daytime, we also include a
Complimentary City Tour in Arusha, to take you to the Maasai Market, where
there are many shops with local art, decor, fabrics and jewelries, and
time-permitting, take you to the Shanga Shop near Arusha, a wonderful community
project that support local Tanzanian with disabilities to empower themselves
with manufacturing skills! If you are interested in seeing local coffee
plantation, we can also arrange that as a complimentary activity in the
afternoon.
Day 2:
Arusha- City tour plantation tour
After
breakfast, you will have a full day to relax at Arusha Coffee Lodge. You have
the option of doing a city tour, or Coffee plantation tour or to visit a local
orphanage that we support. Enjoy a complimentary lunch at the Shanga House, or
The Bay Leaf Boutique Hotel. Return to Arusha Coffee Lodge for dinner &
rest and overnight.
Day 3:
Arusha-Tarangire National Park
After
breakfast, between 7am to 8am, Your Driver Guide with is picking you up from
Arusha Coffee Lodge to start your first safari day! You will arrive at
Tarangire National Park at approximately 10am to 11am, and you can start your
late morning game drive inside the park. Be prepared to be awed by large herds
of elephants, against the backdrop of an enthralling landscape consisting of
majestic baobab trees, which are beautifully bare in the dry season and lush
green in the wet season. After about 1-2 hours of morning game drive, you can
stop at the park’s designated picnic site for lunchbox, prepared by the Bay
Leaf. Enjoy your lunch with the magnificent views of Tarangire and the
tight-knit elephant families from a distance. Shortly after lunch, you will
resume your game drive inside the park. Your driver guide will gladly explain
the history of the park, as well as any information you’d like to find out
about the resident animals, evening game drive return to the lodge.
Day 4:
Tarangire national park tour
Wake
up for early morning breakfast by 5:30am to 6am, or leave for breakfast box!
Start your first morning in Tarangire with a sunrise safari, and find yourself
amidst beautiful baobab trees as well as large herds of elephants! For lunch,
you have the option of having packed lunchboxes from the lodge at the picnic
site, or, to return to lodge for Hot Lunch! As you will be staying inside the
park, you are able to continue your game drive until sunset. By 5-6pm, start
driving back to Tarangire Treetops to rest.
Day 5:
Tarangire to Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Manyara
By
6-7am, wake up for an early morning breakfast. Your Driver Guide will join you
shortly after to escort you back to the vehicle, to start Day 5! By 8-9am,
start driving to Lake Manyara to start a fresh morning in the Manyara Forest!
Lake Manyara, with its tropical forest-like environment offers a very
distinctive landscape than the rest of the national parks in the Northern Circuit.
It also boasts of an abundant variety of birds, as well as large groups of
baboons and elephants in the area. By 12-1pm, you will stop at the designated
picnic spot for lunch, before continuing with an afternoon game drive. By 4pm,
you will start leaving for Ngorongoro Exploring (approximately 1.5 hours drive
away), a beautiful lodge with lush garden and a spacious pool to relax in. The
lodge is also conveniently situated right by the Ngorongoro gate.
Day 6:
Ngorongoro – Serengeti
Like
the other national parks, Ngorongoro Crater is at its best in the early morning
hours, as the animals will be most active and energized, and it is also
recommended to leave early in order to avoid the day crowds in the Crater!
By
5:00am, you can wake up for early morning breakfast, or leave with breakfast
box at approximately 05:30am. Your Safari Infinity Driver Guide will pick you
up, and head for the gate at 06:00 sharp to be one of the first vehicles on the
ground (time and traffic permitting)! Upon entering the Crater, you will be in
awe of the world’s largest unbroken caldera. The Crater is a home to a variety
of animals that share the vast space of the caldera, about 30,000 in numbers. Proceed
to Serengeti for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Four Season Lodge or similar
Day 7:
Serengeti National Park Tour
On
your first morning in the Serengeti, we recommend leaving the camp by 05:30am,
with packed breakfast box, or you can also return to camp for hot breakfast by
9-10am. This is when the animals are at their best, hungry and ready to hunt
for their first kill of the day. You wouldn’t want to miss the early morning
Serengeti action! This is the day you start your journey in the famous “endless
plains”, and the largest National Park in the Northern Circuit, with an impressive
variety of the exquisite Big Cats that roam about in the area, notably lions,
cheetahs and leopards. This is also where the migration takes place all year
round, and a chance to be amidst more than 1 million wildebeest and uncountable
herds of zebras! You will be arriving at Four Seasons Serengeti in time for drink
refreshment and towels to clean the Serengeti dust you’ve collected from the
day. Enjoy Dinner & Overnight at Four Seasons Serengeti (Savannah Room).
Day 8: Serengeti- Northern Serengeti
Day 8: Serengeti- Northern Serengeti
On
your last morning in the Central Serengeti, you can still leave the camp by
05:30am, with packed breakfast box, or leave after hot breakfast at lodge. By
10am (or after hot lunch), start driving to Northern Serengeti (approx. 3
hours), with game drive en-route. On this day, you will be starting your game
drive in the Northern Serengeti, where the migration takes place between July
to September, where an estimated 1.3 million wildebeests & large herds of
zebras cross the Mara River, known as the Great Migration. After game drive in
the late afternoon or early evening, return to camp for rest and refresh your
safari notes for the day.
Day 9:
North Serengeti Park
On
your second full day in the Northern Serengeti, we recommend leaving the camp
by 05:30am, with packed breakfast box, and start driving to the Mara River
(approximately 20 minutes) for your chance to see the great migration river
crossing at the Mara River. After a full morning game drive, return to camp for
hot lunch, or, you can also choose to have packed lunchboxes at the picnic
site. By 1-2pm, you have the option to stay back at Camp to relax, rest, or to
continue with your game drive until sunset. As the sun is quite strong in the
early afternoon, it would also be a good time to take a short break before your
afternoon game drive until sunset. After game drive in the late afternoon or
early evening, return to camp for rest, or stop by the lounge tent and library
to refresh your safari notes for the day.
Day 10:
Northern Serengeti to Arusha to JRO Airport
On
your last morning in the Northern Serengeti, we recommend leaving the camp by
05:30am, with packed breakfast box, and enjoy an early morning game drive
inside the park, before start preparing to leave the Serengeti for Arusha!
By
09:00am, start driving to the Kogatende Airstrip to connect to flight to Arusha
(DEP 10:00 a.m ARR 12:10pm). Upon arrival at ARK-Arusha airport, you will be
transferred to The Bay Leaf Boutique Hotel for a Day Room & Complimentary
Lunch. In the afternoon/evening, transfer to JRO-Kilimanjaro Airport to connect
to your International Flight
