Queen
Elizabeth National Park - 4 Days
Day 1:
Kampala
Upon
arrival in Uganda, you will be met at Entebbe Airport and transferred to your
five star accommodations.
Day 2:
Meet at breakfast at 0800 hrs, then drive west with a stopover at the Equator
for photos. Continue through volcanic formations of the Western Rift Valley
towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The descent reveals a stunning panorama
of Lakes George and Edward amidst game-filled plains. In the evening, proceed
for a unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward.
The
trip passes through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa and many
mammals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. The cruise offers an
excellent platform for photography and game viewing. The birdlife is colorful
and abundant. Return for dinner to Mweya Safari Lodge that is beautifully
situated on a bluff overlooking the Kazinga Channel and Lake Edward.
Day 3:
Two Game Drives today. Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse Eco-system of
grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is
home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Game drives in this park, with the
massive Ruwenzori’s as a backdrop provides excellent opportunities to see Lion,
Leopard, giant Forest Hog, Cape Buffalo, Elephants, Defassa Waterbuck, Uganda Kobs,
Topi and Bush Buck. Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the beautiful
free-form swimming pool.
The
temperature cools towards the end of that afternoon and this is the ideal time
to go for another game drive. Return in time for a refreshing sundowner as you
unwind and watch the sun slip slowly below the Blue Mountains of Congo.
Day 4:
Early morning departure to Kyambura Gorge, visitors can climb through
tropical forest and catch a glimpse of a variety of primates, including
chimpanzee. Visit the Bat Caves and the "Blue Lake".
Drive,
leisurely, to Kampala, with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, arriving early
evening. Drop-off at your respective accommodations in Kampala or at Entebbe
Airport for departure.
